The key responsibilities for the role are:
- As part of the production team develop the operating capability of the equipment and process
- Set up, adjust and operate equipment to achieve required product quality
- Where modifications are necessary strip down equipment and carry out necessary repairs
- Operate equipment to achieve required quality standards and feed back issues to colleagues
- Achieve a detailed understanding and knowledge of the equipment and materials processed through it
- Safety is paramount. Carry out work taking full account of your personal and colleague’s safety.
- Record data s necessary either manually or on IT system
- Assist in developing operating instructions for the plant.
ESSENTIAL
- Sound engineering background with evidence of practical skills and capability – NVQ Level 3 minimum
- Confident and capable to carry out fault finding
- Experience of manufacturing in quality conscious environment
- Capable of reading drawings and creating engineering sketches
- Ability to communicate at all levels
DESIRABLE
- Background in similar industry – e.g. web handling gained in thin film, foil, paper or metal processing.
- Formal engineering qualification – mechanical/machinist
