Professor Graetzel receives the GALVANI MEDAL

The Electrochemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society has decided to award GALVANI MEDAL 2009 to Prof. Michael Grätzel (ISIC - LPI) for his "outstanding, worldwide acknowledged contributions to the field of Energy Conversion and especially of Dye-sensitized nano-structured based on a liquid junction".

Galvani medal awarded since 1986 has gone to several distinguished electrochemists; R. Parsons, H. Gerischer, B.E. Conway, A.J. Bard, J.M. Savéant, D. Kolb, R.W. Murray and C. Amatore.

The Medal was presented on the occasion of the XXIII Congress of the Italian Chemical Society, held in July 2009 in Napoli.
