Executive TeamEdward J. StevensonChief Executive Officer and FounderMr. Stevenson is Co-founder and Principal of Renewable Capital. He is the former Co-Founder and CEO of Southern California Roofing Company and co-founded Solar Integrated Technologies (SIT) in 2003. SIT’s photovoltaic roofing systems won the National Roofing Council Administration’s best product of the year award in 2004 and in 2005 was named Vendor of the Year by Pepsi Co’s Frito Lay Division, 2005; recipient of the 2005 Wall Street Journal Innovation Award for Technology.
Stephen SadlerChief Financial OfficerMr. Sadler has held a number of Board level and senior financial positions with quoted technology companies. Prior to joining G24i he was Chief Financial Officer for Turbo Power Systems Inc, an AIM and Toronto Stock Exchange listed company specialising in energy efficient power electronics solutions for transportation and distributed generation. Previous roles included Chief Financial Officer for Host Europe Plc until its sale to Pipex Plc in 2004 and senior finance roles at Logica Plc and GX Networks Plc.
Mr. Sadler qualified as an ACA with Arthur Andersen and has a degree in Industrial and Business economics from the London School of Economics. Kevin TaborDirector of Science and ResearchDr. Tabor holds a PhD in chemistry and has been a member of the scientific community for over 26 years. Dr. Tabor previously served as Director of Manufacturing and Technology at Solar Integrated Technologies where he managed the installation and commissioning of a new generation, large (3 m wide), high throughput (180 MW design capacity) manufacturing plant for production of flexible photovoltaic panels. He managed all aspects of plant operation which included evaluation, design, modification, conceptualization, construction and implementation of equipment modifications resulting in 400% throughput increase and estimated savings of $1.5 million per year.
Dr. Tabor implemented the design and development of novel flexible building integrated photovoltaic products suited for large-scale industrial roofing applications with issuance of various patents pending award. He has served as a CAL/EPA volunteer expert to the California Governor’s office Executive Order S-7-04 in the development of Blueprint Plan on the societal benefits of implementation of a California Hydrogen Highway and was a member of the ‘Ozone hole discovery’ team whilst working with NASA. Dr. Tabor currently divides his time between EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland and G24i as part of the knowledge transfer agreement between the two companies. Paul NorrishDirector of SalesMr. Norrish has been working in the Renewables and Carbon Markets since 1999. He is former Director of Sales for Solar Century, where he was responsible for taking several renewable energy products to market, including the world’s first integrated solar thermal tile, PV powered bus shelters and sound barriers. Mr. Norrish developed and ran a project with the United Nations at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 and was instrumental in setting up the SolarAid Foundation in 2006, the charitable arm of Solar Century, which was incorporated in April 2006.
Mr. Norrish is actively involved in the Johannesburg Climate Legacy, which developed a scheme to offset the emissions associated with the upcoming World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). He has worked with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) leading the ‘greening’ project and also UNDP and World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Steve BurtFinance ManagerMr. Burt is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has 14 years experience leading local operations for a number of blue chip manufacturing businesses and has spent time facilitating the implementation of quality management programmes in two blue chip companies. Clemens BetzelPresidentClemens Betzel is the former President of International Operations Europe for United Technologies Corporation (UTC) where he represented this Dow 30 company with all European institutions, national governments and other institutional customers. As an advocate of regulatory and commercial activities, market analysis and sales support, Mr. Betzel liaised with all levels in Europe. He represented UTC as member of the board of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU and as member of the Board of the American Defence Industry Forum. Prior to UTC, Mr. Betzel held the position of Legislative Director of European Affairs for the Christian Democrats Parliamentary Group in the German Parliament. He was charged with matters relating to all European institutions with emphasis on the European Convention. Mr. Betzel also served in the German Foreign Service in various capacities, including as Deputy Head of Mission in Maputo, Mozambique, representing Germany in the international supervisory group for the Mozambican peace process. He holds a Law Degree from the University of Bonn, Germany. Howard SuttonDirector of OperationsMr. Sutton is the former International Engineering Director for Clearlab International, where he was actively involved with the design and development of a fully automated production line, which included robotics, chemical engineering, and software. He has over 18 years of experience in nanotechnology development and manufacturing engineering. Prior to G24i, Mr. Sutton held positions of Operations and Technical Director at Visiontec CL Ltd and Senior Manager of Automation at Nortel Networks. He built teams at five global sites to automate the manufacturing process and was responsible for over 100 people and an $80m budget. Mr. Sutton successfully developed new laser protection technology, which was applied to a number of products based on thin film dielectric coatings and dyes. He holds an MSc in Machine Design from Cranfield University. Alan J. MontelloChief Technology Officer, Renewable Capital, and Technical Consultant to G24iMr. Montello is the former Principal Engineer of Konarka Technologies, Inc., which developed a unique flexible thin film Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell architecture and roll-to-roll manufacturing technology processes. He is an expert in the theoretical and practical application of all major coating technologies and has developed several new hybrid coating modalities. Prior to Konarka, Mr. Montello was the Technical Manager and Senior Principal Engineer of Polaroid Corporation’s Advanced Coating Technology and Thin Films Product Development Division. His career spans over 30 years of R&D, product innovation, and manufacturing scale-up integration. Gordon CowieDirector of Human ResourcesMr. Cowie is former Director of Human Resources at Morgan Carbon Europe, a world leader in technically complex products based on materials technology. He was responsible for introducing and directing the Six Sigma based improvement programme, successfully leading to the company’s receipt of the Wales People Investor of the Year Award of 2002 in recognition of achieving outstanding culture change. Mr. Cowie was a key member of the European Executive team providing guidance and leadership at a time of major strategic change for the business. He led HR strategy on separation and sale of the Auto business to Italy/Bulgaria. Mr. Cowie held the position of Chairman of Health and Safety Management Committee achieving award winning performance in 2002. |
