Our Fabrication Plant

G24 Innovations Limited ("G24i") located in Cardiff, Wales became operational in 2007. Our fabrication plant is 18,000 square feet and is set on 9.3 hectares (23 acres). G24i's factory will be the first facility ever to produce solar cells while relying exclusively on renewable energy, including solar, wind, geothermal and other green sources.

Our automated "roll-to-roll" manufacturing process transforms a lightweight roll of metal foil into a 100-pound half-mile of G24i’s Dye Sensitised Thin Film in less than three hours. This material is rugged, flexible, lightweight and generates electricity even indoors and in low light conditions.

  • G24i’s advanced cell is silicon and cadmium-free.
  • Our DYE SENSITISED THIN FILM is less than 1mm thick.
  • We incorporate raw materials that are both inexpensive and effectively limitless.
  • The labor component of our production process is less than 2%.

Our advanced manufacturing technique offers key advantages:

  • Utilises a high speed and environmentally friendly, "roll-to-roll" process, similar to inkjet printing.
  • G24i began DYE SENSITISED THIN FILM production in 2007 with plans for significant expansion in 2008.
  • Eliminates the high production costs, excessive energy usage and environmental impact associated with traditional silicon manufacturing.
  • Dramatically reduces green house emissions (GHG) in the production of solar cells.
